Zhao Zilan (1996) is a designer and illustrator. Her work is visually strongly influenced by British underground comics and drawings. She uses walking as a method to creatively connect the non-linear and random events she experiences in urban space with her personal sensory experiences, drawing a picture between reality and fantasy.

As a female creator, ‘otherness’ is also a theme that preoccupies her. Therefore, her works often focus on the so-called ‘shitty, unorthodox’ things as well as the skilful appropriation and misinterpretation of the ‘system’. Through this poetic ‘Everyday Forms Of Resistance’, she hopes to create a space of “interval” to face the turmoil of real life.
